So… After a long hiatus, I have thought about making a come back on jarvuss.com. So far I’ve only gone as far as updating wordpress. I thought about using django, which may I say is very nice, But these days I’m more about just using something that’s ready to go out of the box. And wordpress 2.7 is awesome out of the box. More to come later…

Long and winding road… of job searching
January 11th, 2007It’s been a while. Nothing exciting to announce… yet. I am still looking for a job. A lil frustrated cuz a temp job I thought I’d be starting this week or next, apparently I won’t even hear anything back about it until the end of next week. Some good news though, I might be hearing something back tomorrow about a real programming job. I hope it’s good news, you know something like, “You’re hired, start today. Oh and we are going to pay you $75,000 a year.” HA HA! I wish! But I can still hope… uh… dream, right?
In the mean time I’ve been watching the news a lot and keeping up with all the happenings at Apple. Mac World 2007 started this Tuesday. The all mighty, and highly rumored iPhone was released. I’m very excited about it! I heard they might make a phone, but initial rumors had suggested it would be an iPod that could make phone calls. Not cool in my book. Just a week ago I was ranting how I would love to have a smart phone, but one that didn’t run Windows CE crap. I thought, if Apple made their own smart phone/PDA that ran a lil mini OS X, that would be great. Well, hot damn, that’s exactly what they did. And this thing is SEXY!!! The bad points, it’s $499-$599 and it won’t be available till June. But it pretty much does the job of a laptop, iPod and phone in one. It’s amazing. I would like to have one, but I’m happy not having one too, cuz it’s a lot and I don’t NEED one.
In other Apple news, I have been really getting hooked on the Podcast thing. I thought the idea was interesting but not really worth it. People recording themselves and then letting you download it on iTunes. Well, there’s actually some good stuff out there. Lottsa cool random tech stuff and now TV stations like HBO are starting to offer free material. Plus, it’s a good time waster, ha ha. OK out of stuff to talk about. Yall have fun! Till next time.

New home
December 22nd, 2006I graduated college. Yay! No longer a baylor bear. Life is good. I am also in Knoxville Tennessee. Got here Wednesday night around 11ish. Found out my cell phone doesn’t work here. Luckily I was able to make it use Cingular’s network. Not sure how, or why, but it works now. Ha ha. Umm… other news, went out to a lil martini bar. Had a couple of martini’s. First martini ever! They were good, strong though. Makes sense, they are pretty much vodka with a splash of flavor. That’s really all so far… not feeling too inspired, just felt like putting a lil update. Now to find out how to fix sticky keys since I spilled cherry coke on my laptop, bummer. BTW, I’m in love with a meredith. Can you guess which one?
